PRICE OF BUTTER.

GOVERNMENT TAKING ACTION. “I had a consultation this morning with the Dairy Commissioner,” said the Prime Minister to a Post reporter. "He is ot the opinion that there Is sufficient butter in New Zealand for our requirements. No more will be shipped to Vancouver this season, as the prices rulinc in New Zealand, Canada, and North America make it impossible to send butter from here. There will be no more butter shipped to England this season. Stops are being taken by the Department of Agriculture to ascertain exactly what is being done in the way of butter export, and to keep me supplied with accurate information as to the amount in slock. Any attempt to increase the price will be followed by absolute prohibition ol export. That,” said the Prime Minister, “is the only course that can be pursued.”
