HOCKEY.

The first skirmish of the hockey campaign took place on the Racecourse yesterday- An encounter between the Ladies Club and the School, resulted iu favour of the School. Goals were scored for School by Stella Barber (2) and Eileen Cummerfield (2). As yesterday’s game was the first ia which the ladies have participated iu since last season they showed a decided lack of training, but still their play, generally speaking, was very good, and it is evident they intend to make no race of it for the Gillespie Cup this season.
