It is probable that there will be an electioa for the mayoraltyAn effort is being made to Induce Mr Alf. Fraser, late Town Clerk, and an ex-Mayor, to oiler his services. Mr Fraser’s long connection with the administrative affairs of the borough and his practical knowledge, backed by a strong personality, gives him a fitting qualification tor the position, It he accepts nomination the contest should prove very interesting. Mr John Chrystall, the present senior councillor, has definitely decided to contest the seat against all-comers. The policy of aspirants will be awaited with interest.
