According to the Budget brought dowa by the Minister for Finance last August, the unimproved value of land has increased during the past five years by £SV 000,000. Fifty-two millions of uneared increment in five years • That is to say, ,£1,000,000 iu five weeks, ,£200,000 in one week, ,£28,871 per day, nearly £I2OO per hour, or £IOO for every five minutes. In face of these figures some people are suggesting that the wage-earner should be asked to contribute to a war tax !
