A very successful Catholic concert was held at Shannon on Wednesday night, every item being encored. Tae Allies National Anthems, played b% the Shannon Orchestra, was absolutely the best item of the evening. Mr J. J. Trainer was stage manager, he also sang, “Its a Tong Way to Tipperary,” and “Father O’Flyn.”
Eddie Firth, who has undergone two operations in the Palmerston North Hospital and who’s life has been hanging in the scales of fate for some weeks, has taken a slight turn tor the belter. The carnival committee have all arrangements well in hand for the 24th Inst. The carviva! is in aid of the Belgian Relief Fund.
