FULLER’S PICTURES
A splendid bill-of-fare is promised patrons of the Town Hall to-night. The programme is a well-selected and varied one and should attract a large house. A star feature of Monday’s change of programme at t he Town Hall is, “Orders Under Seal.” A thrilling departure in film drama, a perfect picture play, a film of tremendous possibilities, an electric English and American success. It is a film which, for sustained interest, no small feature in a five reel play, magnificent photography, unique, original effects and really human acting, easily beats all previous productions, and in its turn will take some beating. Briefly the story is this: War is in the air. Relations between the two nations are strained to breaking point. Count Spiuelli, the villain of the piece, is the secret agent of the foreign power, and it is his riiission to find out what the plans of the Government are. To assist in attaining bis end the Count organises a carrier pigeon service between bis Government’s headquarters and an old mill on his own estate. Upon war being declared, Rear - Admiral Van Houvan arranges the order of attack, and hands over the sealed orders referring to the same, to his son, lieutenant Vau Houvan. From this point we see some very rapid twirls of “fortune’s wheel.” “Orders Under Seal” is a splendid film. It possesses all the component parts of real drama —true love, intrigue, plot, counter-plot, hair breadth escapes, the downfall of vice and the triumph of virtue. An item of exceptional interest and fresh in the minds of every one is “The Bombardment of the North East Coast Towns of England” by the Germans recently, depicting the havoc caused to buildings and many interesting incidents. Also the latest “Pathe Gazette” and a screaming ccmedy, “Taming a Stepfather.” royaiTpictures.
“ The Sacrifice of Kathleen ” a great Vitagraph drama, will be the chief attraction at the Royal to-night. It is an absorbing story of adventure. There will also be screened a very interesting Australian Gazette, with scenes of a patriotic carnival and humorous athletic sports meeting ; church parade of the Expeditionary Force; big blaze on the Paramatta, and a number of other scenes of current interest. Other films are “Jack Spratt as Policeman” (comic), “ The Greater Love,’’ an unconventional love (drama), “A Matter of Record ” (comic), “The Demon of the Ralls’’ (drama), “ A Motor Car Polo Match,” played just prior to the outbreak of war, and one of the ever popular Keystone comics “ The Fatal Sweet Tooth,” and the eleventh series of “Xucille Dove,” will also be shown.
