HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY’S AUTUMN SHOW.

THURSDAY & FRIDAY NEXT.

The local Horticultural Society’s Antumu Show will be held in the Coronation Town Hall next Thursday and Friday, intending exhibitors should look up the catalogue and sort out their entries. On Thursday the secretary hooked 30 entries Iroiu one local resident. All the judges appointed have signified the willingness to offi ciate. It is expected that a number of exhibits will come from outside districts this year which proclaims the growing popularity of the institution. Mrs Henderson will again be in charge of the refreshment department, so the public will be well catered lor in respect to afternoon lea, etc.

Mrs Woods will be in charge of the sweets stall and is out to do record business this year.

Mr Woodroofe has again kindly donated a sheep for the guessing competition. A meeting of the amusement comuriltee (Messrs Burgess, Claris and P. Robinson) was held on Thursday night. They decided that something novel should be put on to entertain pairous. “Kaiser Bill" is to take short sprints across the stage and the public, armed with tennis balls, will have the privilege of knocking him over at a penny a shot. Then there is to be pillow fighting on a boom. These events alone should be a great attractiou. The committee is right out to entertain the public royally. Entries close on Tuesday night at to o'clock, late entries up to 9 o’clock night be ore show on payment of late fee. The general committee are requested to attend at the supperroom at 2.30 on Wednesday afternoon. The show trophies will be on view In Mr Patterson's window to-night.
