DOUBLE FATALITY.
A sad doable tragedy is reported from Rongotea. Two men, mates and rabbiters, had been drinking heavily at their camp. Robert Patterson died practically in delirium tremens, and his male, named Emanuel White, went to Rongotea to report the affair to the police. He, too, dropped dead. The doctor said both were cases of heart failure. Patterson was a man of about 35 years. White was a man of about 60, and for many years was a resident of Palmerston North. He was engaged in contracting, and was well known as a pig breeder. He leaves a wife and son.
Dr Stendahl. who made a post mortem on both bodies, stated at the inquest that the deceased men were suffering from alcoholic poisouing, causing heart failure, and a verdict ia accordance with the medical evidence was returned.
Both were buried at Rongotea oa Sunday afternoon.
