SALVATION ARMY.
OFFICERS FAREWELLED. In saying goodbye to Foxton Ensign Smith and Captain Glover desire to thank, through the Herai.d, all who have so willingly assisted them iu their work during their term here. They take their departure on Thursday morning. Ensign Smith has been granted a well-deserved rest and Captain Glover goes to the Lower Hutl pro. tern, and thence to Apiti in charge. We take Ibis opportunity to pay a tribute to the excellent and self-sacrificing work accomplished in Foxton by these young ladies. Thtiir loss will be felt by a large number of people outside the army’s operations and the good wishes of the townspeople will follow them wherever they may be. At the Salvation Army Kali last Friday the departing officers were tendered a tarewell banquet by their comrades and a most enjoyable time was spent.
