BELGIAN RELIEF FUND.

The local Carnival Committee recently forwarded a cheque for instructions to send same to the proper authorities. Yesterday the following acknowledgment was received from Mr Massey : “I desire to acknowledge the receipt of the letter on behalf of the Foxton Caruival Committee, forwarding a cheque for 14s gd towards the Belgian Relief Fund. I shall be glad if you will convey to the promoters of the Carnival the sincere thanks of my colleagues and myself tor the energy and patriotism which they have displayed in this mattei. The large amount realised will be placed to the credit of the Belgian Relief Fund only as desired, and will also be acknowledged through the columns of the press.
