PETER DAWSON. Speaking of Mr Peter Dawson, the Brisbane Standard says ; “He sang with beautiful voice quality, and with an artistic sense that was most satisfying. The sheer clever- - ness of this melodious bass stood out conspicuously in words like “0 Ruddier than the Cherry,” (Handel) and “I’m a Roamer,” (Mendelssohn) and the crisp staccato and wonderful breath control in the one and the brilliant tempo of the other, were points that gave real distinction to Mr Dawson’s renderings, and he left the audience quite dazzled with the rare merit of the singing. No strain affected the rich power of the singer or robbed his voice of its music. His encores were “Parting” (Tosti) and “Little Grey Home in the West.” songs which increased one’s admiration for his charms as a lyric artist.” Mr Dawson gives his first concert in Boston on Monday, January nth, when he will be supported by his brilliant English concert company.
