BOWLING.
Fifteen rinks, representing eight clubs in the Manawalu Centre, have entered for the rink tournament to be held under the auspices of the Centre on the Terrace End green, on Friday and Saturday, January xst and 2nd. The entries are as follows Palmerston 4, Terrace End 4, Fostou 1, Pahiatua 2, Feilding 1, Woodville 1, Shannon 1, and FoxtonMnk is comprised of F. Whibiey, McColl, Nye and Rim met (s).' -
Yesterday was one of the best days for bowling experienced this season, but owing to the usual Wednesday half-holiday not being observed, the attendance on the greeu was not as large as usual. However, a number of matches were got off, the green playing very well indeed. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs Freeman. Tlfe following are the results of the matches played ; Witchell Trophy.—Woods (6) 25 beat Hislop (scr.) 19, Hislop (scr.) 33 beat Mandl (12) 20, Meyer (n) 23 beat Woods (6) 22, Meyer (xx) 33 beat Mandl (11) 30, and Spring (8) 256 beat Freemah (12) 17.
