MANAWATU MEETING. The Manawatu Racing Club’s Summer Meeting was commenced on Boxing Day, in splendid weather, and before a large attendance. A sum of £3 2 i99 2 was P ut . through the totalisator, asf again si for the corresponding day last year. The racing throughout was interesting, the contest for the Cup being a particularly fine one. This race was won by Kooya, with Fair Rosamond second and Kilrain third. Adroit won the Fitzherbert Handicap, Playoff being second, and Gold Stream third. Second Day.

There was again a good attendance and good racing. The totalisator figures were ,£28,602 as against ,£26,554 for the second day last year. Liverpool Handicap.—Pavlova 1, Berlrada 2, Princess Moutoa 3. Stakes.—Gladiole x, Kmperador 2, Rangitiro 3. Terrace Hack Welter. —Jem x, Despatch Carrier 2, Lodoguer 3. Awapuni Handicap. Denise Orme 1, Chakwana 2, Master Achilles 3. Himatangi Welter.—Sun bird 1, Black Lupin 2, Pariform 3.

TO-DAY’S RESULTS. Whitmore Hack Handicap.— Soporific 1, Invader 2, Montana 3. Scratched : Janitor. Won by half a length. Time, xraiu. 56 secs. Te Mata Hurdles. —Flingot 1, Sir Donald 2, Leapuki 3. All started. Won by two lengths. Time, 2 min. 46 secs. Clandeboye Welter. —Despatch Carrier 1, Master Lupin 2, Matlovv 3, Scratched: Melodist. Won by a length.
