CRICKET.
On the Park pitch yesterday afternoon the local State school team defeated a team from the Foxton Club by 28 runs. School batted first and compiled 87, of which Burgess contributed 28, Parlane 25 and Kruse n. Avann was the most successful bowler, securing four wickets for nine runs.
Foxton was unequal to the task set, the score sheet showing only 59 when the last wicket tell. The double figure scorers were: Findlay 19, Tullett 17 and Avann 10.
