Ou Saturday Otaki (holders) defeated Levin (challengers) in a match for the Dixon Cup. The scores were Otaki 23, Levin 10. This match makes the sixth consecutive wiu for Otaki in Dixon Cup matches.
The local club’s competitions commenced on Saturday. For the Witchell trophy, Rimmer (3) beat Hislop (scr.) by 24 points to 23, after a very exciting game. On the last head Hislop had a lead ot one, and was laying one when Rimmer played his last bowl. This trailed the jack leaving Rimmer two, thus winning by one point. In the pairs Meyer and Petrie (4) beat F. Whibley and Barber (3) by 26 to 19.
