THE HEMP MARKET.
HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. The High Commissioner cabled yesterday as follows : The hemp market is quiet but steadier. Manila .£23. forward shipment December-January 1 os. The output for the week was 16.000 bales. More interest is being shown iu New Zealand, quotations : good fair ,£22 to £22 ss, high point £2l ss, fair £2O 15s. The stock of New Zealand hemp and tow at the end ot October was 1204 tons. Sisal: There is better demand, nominal values being fair average £l9 12s 6d, superior £2O 7s 6d.
