ENTERTAINMENTS.
ROY AD PICTURES. To night at the Royal a film depicting the French young men called to the front will be screened, and the programme shown last night repeated. To-morrow night an altogether exceptional star feature film will be screened entitled “ Threads of Destiny.” It is a magnificent Vitagraph production introducing many wonderful and thrilling episodes. There will also be shown a local feature of deep interest, that depicting New Zealand’s Territorials at Hautapu camp. Other films are “ Gaumont Graphic ” (topical), “ The Elusive Diamond ” (drama), “Picturesque Greece ” (scenic), “ The Tale of a Cat,” and “ A Stage Door Flirtation” (comics). MUNICIPAL PICTURES. The programme for to-morrow night promises to be a more than ordinarily attractive. The star drama, “ Protea, the Second,” is described as “towering above all detective dramas, a thrilling and astounding masterplay of mystery, spectacle marvels upon spectacle marvels.” The other items are, “Pathe Gazette,” topical ; “How God came to Sonny,” drama ; “Dynamite as an aid to Agriculture,” industrial; “The Chicken Chaser,” comic.
