ENTERTAINMENTS.

ROYAL PICTURES. To-night at the Royal an opportunity will be afforded of seeing the brave men who defended Liege. The picture will also show the Belgian cavalry aud other types of soldiers. In view ot current events, this picture should create more than ordinary interest. The star film is entitled “Dare-devil Detective,” and is reputed to be positively the best of all detective dramas. It is a great story of immense interest, and is thrilling and sensational. There will also be screened the very latest “Topical Budget,” “The Bear Hunter,” a magnificently interesting story, splendidly told ; “ Three Leading Canadian Cities,” which teaches much of the grand British Dominion; “ What a Lark” (comedy); “On the Brink ” a great story of a woman’s temptation; and “ Scotland for Ever,” a braw comedy, full of pawky humour and good Scotch fun. On Monday night the star film, “A Cry in the Night,” will be screen ed. MUNICIPAL PICTURES. As usual, there will be an excellent programme screened at the above pictures to-night. The star drama, “The Silent Witness, is a great and thrilling play, pulsating with power. The other items of the programme are : —Australian Gazette (topical), He and She (comic), An American King (drama), From Pen to Pickaxe (comic), It Came by Freight (comic), Stung (comic).
