ROYAL PICTURES.
At the Royal to-night and tomorrow night the star film will be “The Penalty of Crime.” The story abounds in instances which arouse the sensation of anger, sympathy, pity and simple pleasure and attention is maintained and interest stimulated by a succession of startling actions arising in the natural course of the drama, until the exciting finale in which a motor car dashes over a cliff and into a river. There will also be shown some other good dramas, scenics and comics.
On Saturday the great Vitagraph star, “The Golden Pathway,” will be screened and on Monday and Tuesday, “Judith of Bethulia,” proclaimed by press and public as the best film yet screened, will be shown. On these two nights the admission charges will be is 6d and is, which is less than was charged in Wellington or elsewhere when the same picture was shown.
