Bates wires to* day as follows ■ The indications are for variable and strong breezes, but westerly moderate to strong winds prevailing, and veering by south to east There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather, but weather cloudy to overcast occasionally. Barometer little movement; sea moderate, tides poor.
