MUNICIPAL PICTURES
Patrons of the Municipal Pictures have a rare treat in store to-morrow evening, when over 12,000 feet of film will be screened. The star drama “A Student of Prague” or “A Deal with Satan,” is a most brilliant and fascinating Walturdaw film of 4500 feet. The other items of the programme are “Pathe’s Gazette,” the upto date pictorial record of the world’s news; “Alegrias Acrobats,” clean, crisp, clever work by a famous troupe of star performers ; “Montana State Fair,” presenting a panorama of the sports of one of the most progressive States of America; “Mexican War Pictures” of vivid depiction; “Courting Betty’s Beau,” exposing tricks resorted to by women to escape permanent spinsterhood; “ Mabel’s Bear Escape,” one of the funniest farce comedies imaginable. A special Star Feature in addition to the above is being obtained from Wellington. ROYAE PICTURES. To-morrow night at the Royal a picture that should be seen by every mother will be screened. It is entitled “His Majesty the Baby” and is a most delightful child study. His Majesty sits among his dumb subjects and plays with and rules them as a king. It may also be truthfully stated that since the moment of his first appearance on a picture screen he has enthroned himself a reigning monarch in the hearts of all spectators. No picture so charming has ever been screened and His Majesty’s humour is delicious. His presentiment touches that one chord in nature that “makes the whole world kin.” His appeal reaches all auditors, his fun is infectious, you do notlaughatHis Majesty, you laugh with him. the while you wonder at his fearlessness of and power over numberless animals ranging in kind from a kitten to a leopard. The film is absolutely unique and its popularity wherever shown is marked nightly by unprecedented salvos of applause. The star drama is, “Brothers at War,” and there are a number of other good pictures J To-night the sensational picture, “The Wreck,” will again be shown. .
