The chief item of to-morrow night’s programme is a Pathe Freres masterpiece of 4,220 ft, It is a splendid drama with a new sensation and tells of a heroic dance at sea while the ship is burning and thereby saves a panic. The other items are, “Pathe Gazette,” topical; “ The Little Indian Model,” drama ; “Langonste Fishing,” educational ; “The Liverpool Grand National Steeplechase, 1914,” topical ; “The Girl aud the Middy,” comic.
To-night, at The Royal, the programme screened last night, and which met with general approval, will be repeated. To-morrow night an excellent programme will be shown, the Star picture being, “One Hour Before Dawn,” a film of over 3,000 feet in length. It is a particularly strong drama, featuring the recent discovery of infra-red rays, which recently startled the scientific world. The story is a very fine one, with a pretty love episode running through it. Scenes show the tactics adopted by detectives to gain confessions from suspected persons. Taken all through, it is above the usual average of drama. Another good dramatic film is “The Little Hero,” the child stowaway, who faces death before he’d tell a lie. It’s touching, tender, and rings true as steel. The other pictures are: “Gaumont Graphic” (topical), “St. Cloud” (scenic), and “Zuza, the Bandmaster” (comic).
