WEDDING.
HUNTLEY—SOWMAN
A quiet and pretty wedding was solemnised by the Rev Ford Hutchison in St. John’s Church, Featherston, on Wednesday last, the contracting parties being Ethel, fifth daughter of Mr Alfred Sowman, of Blenheim, and sister of Mrs Ball, of Foxton, and Ernest, youngest son of Mr A. Huntley, of Featherston. The bride, who was given away by Mr R. E. Williams, was handsomely attired in a dress of cream radianta, trimmed with satin and silk fringe trimmings, and wore the orthodox veil and orange blossom and carried a handsome shower bouquet. The bride was attended by Miss Francis Huutley, sister of the bridegroom, as bridesmaid, attired in a dress of white radianta with bar to match and carried a bouquet of primroses. The bridegroom was supported by Mr A. J. Huntley, of Greytown, as groomsman. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the tearooms of Mr James Huntley’s establishment, where an excellent breakfast was prepared. The bride’s goiug-away dress was a saxe blue costume trimmed with white corded velvet and hat to match. The Herald staff, of which the bridegroom is a member, were not forgotten in the festivities and assembled and drank the health of their companion and his bride. Mr and Mrs Huntley will take up their residence in Foxton and are the recipients of the good wishes of a large circle of friends.
