BOROUGH FINANCES.
The Borough Treasurer reported at last night’s Council meeting as follows : The following amounts were received to 31st July and placed to credit as under : To district fund account ,£233 3s id and to cemetery account £2 12s 6d. The position of the accounts as per B.N.Z. Pass Books is as under: District fund debit ,£434 15s 4d and cemetery account credit £8 10s 6d. The following is the position of the various ledger accounts : Cemetery account £S 10s 6d, contractor’s deposits £4, gas works ,£502 13s 6d, Whirokino bridge additions loan £3 2s xod, roads and streets loan No. 2 £26 19s Bd, reserves £l2O 10s, town hall picture 13s 2d, town hall rink £S 3s all in credit, a total of £723 14s Bd. The following accounts are at debit: General £413 19s Bd, Whirokino bridge loan £ls os tod, roads and streets loan 13s 6d, Shannon bridge loan £S 2s id, Council Chamber and library loan /60, gas works loan £351 iSs sd, library £5 x6s 3d, sanitation ZlO3 ys lod, town ball 17s gd and imprest cash £lO, totalling 16s 6d.
