TOWN CLERK’S REPORT.

The Town Clerk reported at last night's Council meeting as follows: "I have to report that the road staff have been engaged as under since last meeting: Chopping trees and mending fence, cleaning round shed and digging rubbish pit at cemetery; attending to triangle ; tarring, finishing and kerbing footpath in Avenue Road ; spreading and breaking metal on Easton Street also Moutoa Road ; planking wash out in Awahou Creek in Johnson Street; cleaning water channels in Main and Wharf Streets; repairing drain fence in Johnson Streets ; repairing crossing at Wharf and Main Streets, also tarring footpath in Main St., spreading metal in Wharf, Clyde and Frances Streets; in trucks with, metal and carting same on to streets and yard ; tarring footpath in Whyte Street and filling tar tank. If possible I would like the works committee to meet at Park Street to-morrow before the work of putting in the concrete kerb is commenced so that there cannot be any complaints afterwards as to the line that should or should not have been followed.”
