POLITICAL.

A meeting of supporters of the Government w.is held in the Masonic Hall on Tuesday night, when a hiauch of the Reform Teague was formed and officers and committee elected. Mr B. G. Gower was unanimously elected president and Messrs Greig and Wm. Ross vice-presidents, Mr Kellow secretary and Mr C. Johnston treasurer. Delegates were appointed to attend a meeting of supporters to be held at Levin on Saturday. It was decided to communicate with Rangiotu, Glen Oroua and Moutoa re forming branches of the league in those settlements. It was reported that a strong branch had been formed at Oroua Downs. A meeting of the committee is to be held next week to receive a report from the delegates to the Levin meeting.
