SUDDEN DEATH.

A painfully sudden death occurred on Tuesday evening, when Mrs Henderson, relict of the late Mr W. Henderson a well-known and highly respected resident of Martou, passed away at her daughter’s (Mrs A. Hawke) residence, the cause of death being heart trouble. The late Mrs Henderson was on a visit to her daughter, and during the afternoon in company with Mrs Hawke called upon some friends. She complained of feeling unwell, and returned to the post office where she collapsed and expired shortly after and while medical aid was being summoned. The suddenness of the whole thing was a great shock to Mrs Hawke and her daughter who were present. Mr Hawke who was away on his annual leave in the Wairarapa, was immediately telegraphed lor, and arrived with other members of the family yesterday. The body of the late Mrs Henderson was removed to Mar ton yesterday, where the interment will take place to-day. The family will have the heartfelt sympathy of a large number of friends throughout the Rangitlkei where the deceased and her late husband where held in the highest esteem. The late Mrs Henderson leaves a grown-up family of two sons and three daughters—Messrs W. P. Henderson and Wm. Henderson, Mrs H. C. N. Xadly, Mrs Hawke of Foxton and Mrs J. Temperley of Marton.
