STRUCK OFF THE ROLLS.
CASE OF OLIVER NOEL GILLESPIE.
As a sequel to the imprisonment 61 Oliver Noel Gillespie, of Fielding, for misappropriation of trust moneys, application was made in the Court of Appeal on Tuesday for a rule absolute striking Gillespie’s name off the roll of solicitors.
The presiding judge, Mr Justice Denniston, said it was obvious and was practically admitted, that the facts were such that the court could not do anything but strike the prisoner off the rolls absolutely. It was open to him to apply at any future date if he thought fit. An order would be made striking him off the roll absolutely, with costs &5 15s.
The decision was concurred in by the other members of the Bench present —Mr Justice Edwards, Mr Justice Cooper and Mr Justice Stringer.
