HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT.

The High Commissioner cabled at noon yesterday as follows: — The hemp market continues dull. The Manila market has declined but forward shipments are quoted at more than near positions. Fair current £ 25, October to December shipments £ 2 5 10s. The output for the week was 21,000 bales. The-New Zealand market is quiet and prices are slightly weaker. Only a few small sales at second hand have been made on a basis of June- August shipments, fair £23 55, good fair £26, spot good fair £25 ios, fair £23. These quotations are nominal. The Sisal market is quiet but steady. New York quotation equal to £23 12s 6d c.i.f. Europe. The N.Z. tow market is quiet, second grade £l3 ss, third 10s.
