JEWELLER ASSAULTED.
Napier, June 12. Arnold Ashworth, a young: man, was before the Court to-day on a charge of assaulting W. W. Brooks, with intent to commit a crime. Accused had selected some jewellery in Brooks’ shop, and the latter was wrapping up the articles, when the accused hit him a violent blow with a stone knotted in a handkerchief. Brooks grappled with the man, and called lor assistance, Ashworth being taken into custody. He was remanded for a week.
