THE INQUIRY.
The Hon. W. H. Herries (Minister of Railways) informed a reporter yesterday that a Departmental inquiry would be held into the circumstances of the accident, but that it might be unnecessary to hold any public inquiry other than the inquest upon the victims. A decision upon this point would be reserved until after the inquest.
