A CHRISTCHURCH MYSTERY.
Christchurch, April 22. The adjourned inquest into the circumstances surrounding the death of Samuel Skierra Honace Kirkland, aged 37 years, who was found dead on the 12th inst., was held to-day. At the inquest, Dr Church was unable to assign the cause of death, and it was decided to have the contents of deceased's stomach analysed. The report of the Public Analyst was to the effect that the examination disclosed no evidence of organic or inorganic poison. Dr Church said that, alter careful consideration of the analyst’s report and a study cf similar cases, he was forced to conclude that the cause of death must have been angina pectoris. Witness mentioned that he had been informed that deceased had consulted a doctor at Diptou for heart trouble.
The Coroner (MrC. C. Graham) relumed a verdict in accordance with the medical finding. He mentioned that there had been no suspicion about the case at all.
