MUNICIPAL PICTURES
The programme for this evening, as has already been described, is one of the most fascinating that has ever yet been screened. “Psyche” is a glorious mythological legend, and a supreme Palhecolour. Space will not permit us to describe in full the world’s great picture, “Quo Vadis ” which is to be screened to-morrow evening, at 7.30 sharp. Incidental sections from amongst its hundreds of noble spectacles are : —Nero’s sumptuous feasting halls —splendours of Rome’s Amphitheatre — Christians in the catacombs — Palace revelries at Auturin —The Apostle Peter and his followers — The burning of Rome by Nero’s orders—The city burning while
the madman sings— . v., denselypacked coliseum —The great arena —Gladiatorial contests ; whirlwind chariot races —A Christian maid lashed upon the back of a bull; thumbs down —The loosing of the lions—The martyrdom of Christians—Further tortures —Burning torches fastened to Christian bodies—The vision and the Apostle—Nero killed by a slave.
