SUNDAY TRAVELLING.

Wellington, April 20. A deputation from Wellington Council of the Churches and the N.Z. Presbyterian and Methodist Churches waited upon General Godley this morning with a view to urging upon him the desirableness of stopping Sunday travelling in connection with the forthcoming Territorial encampments. The proceedings were conducted in camera. Speaking to a reporter subsequently, General Godley stated that the whole matter had been fully discussed. He informed the deputation that he was entirely in sympathy with their object and had it been possible he would have been glad to meet their wishes.
