RAILWAY TIME-TABLE.
PROTEST AGAINST SUGGESTED ALTERATION. At last night’s Council meeting Cr Freeman moved and Cr Wbibley seconded, that the Foxton Borough Couucil protests against the proposed alterations of the railway time table and that the general manager of railways be asked to consider the interests of Foxton residents before rearranging the time-table. In speaking to the motion Cr Freeman said be saw that Feildiug people were agitating for an alteration in the time table by having the Saturday night train arrive at xo. 45 o’clock and Monday morn- i ing train leave at 5.45 o’clock. If these alterations were made they would net be in the interests of Foxton residents. The Mayor said he didn’t think the suggested alterations were approved by the Railway Department, but in any case he considered that Foxton should have some say in the matter, and he certainly didn’t think they would approve of the suggested alterations- The suggestions were made from a selfish and business point of view and were not in the interests of Foxton. Cr Henderson also spoke in favour of the motion, which on being put was carried.
