" 80-PEEP ” PANTOMIME.
A pantomime a: popular prices is promised Foxton playgoers by Messrs George Stevenson and Alf. Linley, when M’Kay’s Royal Pantomime makes its first appearance here on Friday next at the Town Hall. Mr Stanley M’Kay has made a name for himself as a producer of pantomimes, and for the past three years his company has been touring the States of the Commonwealth. For this tour a company numbering over fifty people has been brought to the Dominion, each and everyone of whom have had much experience in this class of entertainment. No expense has been spared, new costumes having been designed by the well-known theatrical costumier Zeuda, of Sydney, and new scenery painted by that well-known artist, Mr Harry Whaite. “Bo Peep” will be the opening bill here, and it is claimed to be crammed full with catchy songs, entrancing ballets and marches, and diverting speciality acts. The dancing alone will be an attraction, for the ladies of the ballet have all been specially trained aud are led by Fraulein Hertlez, a Continental dancer, specially engaged for the tour. Mr Whaite is said to have excelled himself on the scenery, especially in the transformation scenes, “ The Four Seasons,” which will be shown in “ BoPeep.” The Company contains 50 artists, and is the biggest organisation that has ever visited Foxton, aud it behoves local theatre-goers to support the Managements’ enterprise by rolling up in large numbers.
