WEDDING.

SMITH—DUDSON. A quiet but pretty wedding took place at St. Mary’s church, Foxton, on Wednesday, when Miss Rose Ethel Dudson, youngest daughter of the late Mr Frank Dudson and Mrs Dudson, of Foxton, was married to Mr Leonard Augustus Smith, son of Mr and Mrs Francis Smith, of Kaiapoi. The ceremony was performed by the Rev Father Dore, and followed by Nuptial Mass. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr Syd. Dudson, was attired in a grey tailored costume and grey velvet hat with blue lancer plume, and a pretty shower bouquet ot white sweet peas and roses. She was attended by her sister. Miss J, Dudson, as bridesmaid, attired in white embroideied dress with pale blue sash and white tagel straw hat with tulle trimmings, and carrying a pretty bouquet of white flowers, also her little neice. Miss Doris Whibley, who wore a dainty blue silk frock with wreath of blue forget-me-nots, and carried a pale blue crook with white streamers and forget-me-nots. Mr Edward J. Foote attended as best man. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a silver-mounted handbag. and the bridesmaids received gold brooches. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a suit case. The bride’s mother wore a navy blue tailored costume and black hat with feathers, and the bridegroom’s mother a black dress with white hat and black ostrich feather. Afterwards a small reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother, only relatives being present. The happy couple left by the morning train for Wanganui and Auckland, where the honeymoon is to be spent.
