TOWN CLERK’S REPORT.

The Town Clerk submitted the following report at Monday night’s Council meeting I have to report that during the past month the Council’s roadmen have been engaged as under:— Mixing asphalt in yard, repairing tree guards in Park and Uddell streets, repairing culvert in Harbour street, cleaning channels in Main street, grubbing lupins at cemetery, grubbing lupins at found reserve, and cleaning up at rubbish tip. I would like to suggest to the Council the advisability of giving Main street a real good dressing of tar and sand, after the 31st March. This would greatly improve Main street, both as to its durability as well as reducing the dust nuisance. The rubbish baskets authoriseu at last meeting have been ordered, but are not yet to hand. unfenced sections along Main street have been finally notified or the necessity to fence their sections.
