MUNICIPAL PICTURES.

The programme for Saturday night is a well assorted one, there being thrilling dramas, beautiful scenics aud laughter raising comics. The star drama, “The Skellton in the Cupboard,” describes how Kitty Hawkins, who teaches in the West, returns to her father’s ranch to discover that he is implicated with cattle thieves. Hawkins forces her to accompany him on several expeditions. She determines to escape, and joins a party of settlers crossing the plains. They are attacked by Indians, and after a battle Kitty is the only survivor. She is found by Dan, the deputy sheriff, who carries her to the humble home he shares with his superior. She remains and keeps house for them, and each resolves to win Kilty’s hand. The sheriff is successful. Dan packs up his belongings and seeks a new home. Mason, a cattle thief, associated with Kilty’s father, appears and threatens to inform her husband of her antecedents it she does not give him some money. She empties her purse and bids him go. Kitty confides in Dau, aud he says he will drive Mason from the community. The sheriff eaters and misconstrues the quiet conference. He dismisses Dau from his employ. The sheriff is paid a large sum for protecting a recent shipment of bullion. Mason determines to get the money, and follows the sheriff home. When the sheriff goes out he boldy enters, and is about to overpower Kitty when her screams are heard by Dan. Dan fires through the window and the , ruffian pay the penalty. Kitty finds a note on the window sill irom Dan explaining that the shot was fired to protect Kitty and the money. He adds that be has followed the Elkhorn trail. When the sheriff enters and learns the condition of affairs he concludes that justice has been done. The comics are, ‘‘The Work Habit,” “The School Kids Picnic,” and “Objections Overruled.” The scenics, “Picturesque Italy,” and “Bucharest”; while the dramas are, “The False Engineer,” and “Mary, the Flower Girl.” The usual monthly free matinee for children under 14 years of age will be held on Saturday afternoon, when a good programme will be provided.

“THE ARCADIANS” & “THE; QUAKER GIRD.”

At the Town Hall on Monday evening the O’Connor Merry Widow Company inaugurate a two nights’ season of comic opera with the great and world-famed musical comedy success, “The Arcadians.” This popular play was quite the craze for many years at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London, and in New York. It also proved a phenomenal success under Meynell and Gunn's management in Australia belore that firm was absorbed by J. C. Williamson, Ltd. Mr D. B. O’Connor plays the part of Peter Dooley and Miss Vickey Miller that ot Eileen Cavauagh. All the other characters are well represented. Mr John Ralston and Miss Ida Leggatt whose great vocal abilities are well-known, Mr Bert Nicholson, Miss Cliff Palmer, Miss Bertha Hunter and Mr Harold Charterls form a strong combination of clever artists. ‘‘The Arcadians,” wIU be staged here with all the beautiful scenery and costumes ss used in Australia during its recent production in that country. “The Quaker Girl,” is to be staged on the second and last night. The booking of seats is moving along merrily at the Town Clerk’s Office and a packed house would already appear assured.
