TESTING APPLICATIONS

FOR BONUS.

Palmerston N. Dec. 12

A special meeting of the Flaxmillers’ Association was held today to consider the Government’s offer of a bonus of for improved flaxmilling machinery. There are 40 applicants for the bonus. A committee was set up to examine the applications and to test such ot the competing machines or processes as are considered worthy of trial, and to make a recommendation to the Government as to the payment of the bonus. A committee was also appointed to arrange for power. It was decided that the committee would be ready for inspection of the machinery from the third Monday in January to April 30th.
