MOUTOA NOTES.

(Own Correspondent). Owing to a serious breakdown at Mr A. Saunders’ flaxmill the engine was considerably damaged. It has now been repaired and the mill re-opened. The school committee met on Saturday night last at the schoolhouse. Present : Messrs A. Saunders (chairman;, Pigott, Dudsou and Wilkinson. A considerable amount of correspondence was read. The Rev J. Crawford, of Shannon, applied for the use of the school for the purpose of holding religious service on Sunday afternoon. Permission was granted on the usual understanding that the room be left as found. The application of Miss Wills, of Turakina, for the position ot assistant teacher was considered and approved.
