MUNICIPAL PICTURES.
BILL BEFORE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
The Town Clerk, Mr C. J, Kent-Johnston left for Wellington yesterday on business connected with the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, at present before the Legislative Council, a clause in which proposes to give power to local bodies to conduct picture entertainments. The Bill has already passed all stages in the Lower House.
EVIDENCE BEFORE COUNCIL.

The Statutes Revision Committee of the legislative Council this morning heard the evidence of Mr W. Hamer and two other picture proprietors, opposing the clause proposing to give power to local bodies to conduct picture entertainments. They were represented by Mr Myers, K.C., who addressed the Committee.
The Fox ton Borough Council was represented by Mr C. B. Morrison, K.C., and Mr T. F. Martin (Municipal Association Solicitor), but neither addressed the Committee. The Town Clerk was in attendance but was not called upon to give evidence. The Committee gave no indication of their finding.
