BOWLING.
There was a fair muster of bowlers ou the green yesterday afternoon, and some good practice games were played. The ladies turned out in full force on the croquet greens, both greens being fully occupied during the whole afternoon. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs Green, A meeting of the committee was held in the pavilion yesterday afternoon, when the trophies presented for competition this year were allotted as follows Champion singles (scratch), first prize, President’s (Mr Witchell’s) trophy, second, Mr Petrie’s; handicap pairs, Messrs Hopper and McColl’s trophies ; colts (singles), Mr D. Green’s trophy ; handicap singles, Mr Rimmer’s trophy ist, Mr Turner’s second.
The trophies presented by Mr Ferris have been allotted for the rink winning the most games during the season. It is hoped to get a start with the competitions ou Saturday next.
