BOROUGH FINANCES.

At Monday night’s Council meeting the Borough Treasurer presented his monthly report, which was read as follows: —

“I hive to report that the following amounts weie received since last meeting and placed to credit : district fund 12s id, and for cemetery account £2. The position of the accounts is as under ; District fund account as jd, and cemetery account credit 10s. The following is the position of the various accounts ; Cemetery account £l3 ios, contractors’ deposit account gas works account 18s 6d, general account £ll 9s, Whirokino bridge loan account £ifi 18s nd, roads and streets £64 4s 3d, Shannon bridge £g i9s gd, Whirokino bridge add. loan account £l4 7s, roads and streets loan No. 2 account ,£lO 14s 1 id, gas’ works loan account ,£4lO 19s 9), library account ,£24 ns 3d, reserves accounting 4s Bd, sanitation account iiß6 19s 6J, Town Hall account £326 ns i.l, all in credit, totalling £1 384 8s 71! The Beach road loan account £25 ns 4d and suspense account £6 10s, a total ol £32 is 4d are at debit, leaving a balance of 7s 3d. The balances at the bank are: .£1336 2S 7d and ,£l3 10s, a total of cheques £7 5s 4d, leaving ,£1342 7s 3d and the balance of iro is made up of imprest cash.
