SHOOTING AFFRAY.

A shooting case occurred at Matawai yesterday morning. A man named Grey Fitzgibbons, it is alleged, was shot by another worker on the railway line, named Michael Manns. 111-feeling is said to have existed between the two. Accused waited before a log opposite the boarding-house, and when Fitzgibbons came out from breakfast fired with a Winchester rifle, the bullet entering his right leg above ihe knee. Manns was arrested, and brought to town to-day.
