LIBERAL RE-UNION.
STRATFORD GATHERING.
The Town Hall, Stratford, was crowded last night, when Messrs J. C. Thomson, Atmore, and L. M. Isitt, M’s.P., gave addresses at the Liberal Ble-uniou. The speakers, who were well received, generally attacked the Government's policy and extolled the good work of the past Liberal Government, They claimed that promises had not been kept, and that what the present Ministry condemned in the late Government they were now doing. Cheers were given for Sir Joseph Ward at the close, and the following resolution was carried by acclamation : That this meeting heartily thank the members for coming to Stratford and explaining the political situation in such a lucid manner, and trusts that after the next general election, the Progressive Liberal Party will once more guide the destinies of New Zealand, and further they heartily congratulate Sir Joseph Ward on assuming the leadership of the party.
