SMALL POX.
OUTBREAK AT HASTINGS. STRINGENT MEASURES TAKEN. Hastings, October 3. A smallpox patient from Pakipaki was removed to the quarantine station this afternoon. Everything possible has been done to prevent the spread of the disease. The outbreak has been isolated and Pakipaki school closed. Orders have been given, forbidding the travelling of Natives, and all certificates for vaccination isssued recently have been cancelled. The Health Department communicated with the Hastings town clerk, asking that instructions be given to serve notices on the proprietors ot public entertainments that no natives be admitted to the performances and taxicab drivers are notified that Natives are to travel.
