DEATH OF MR. G.B. NICHOLLS.

Christchurch, Oct. 2. Mr G. B. Nicholls, organiser of the No-License Council, at Christchurch, was seriously injured today as the result of a collision with a tram car. He sustained intercranial haemorrhage with a probable fracture of the base of the skull. Christchurch, Oct, 3. Mr G. B. Nicholls died to-day as a result of injuries received in a collision with a tramcar last night. He was forty-five years of age, and leaves a widow and family. Mr Nicholls was a keen controversialist on the prohibition side, and a ready speaker and writer. As a young man he took a keen interest in sport of all kinds, and wss a prominent member of the Wellington Rowing Club and of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club in their palmiest days.
