ACCIDENT AT A FLAXMILL.

MAN’S ARM TORN OFF.

Christchurch, Sept. 22

There was admitted to the hospital to-day a young man uamed Maurice Maguire, suffering from shock and serious injuries sustained in an accident at a Woodend flaxmlll. Maguire was working in the mill when bis left hand was drawn into the machinery and his arm torn off just below the shoulder, very severely lacerating the shoulder also. Dr. Will, of Rangiora attended to him and sent him to town. After the injuries had been attended to at the hospital Maguire was reported to be progressing as favourably as could be expected, though still suffering from shock.
