BOROUGH BAND.

At a committee meeting held in the bandrootn on Tuesday evening, a letter was received from Mr W. Hamer, offering the Band the sum of £1 to play in front of the Royal Theatre on Saturday evening, from about twenty minutes to eight to as near eight as possible. On the motion of Mr J. Newth, seconded by Mr E. Murphy, it was decided that the Band should not play in front of either halls until further developments. A letter was received from Mr W. Kbbett, tendering his resignation as bandmaster. On the motion of Mr H. Hamer, seconded by Mr R. Rand, it was decided that the secretary write Mr Ebbett asking him to reconsider his resignation.
